How do we spread the good news

Matthew 28. 18-20

18: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.19:Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20: and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

So Jesus has given us, you and me the authority to go out into the world and tell others about him and what we believe. How does that make you feel? Are you filled with fire and can’t wait to spread the news or are you filled with dread at the thought of sharing your faith?

Well lets unpack this so we can understand.

Jesus knows who you are. He probably knows you better than you know your self. So when we start to explore our faith and dig deeper into Gods word. The Lord helps us to find our gifting’s. For some its teaching his word maybe youth ministry or singing as a worship leader. For others, its serving or prophecy even healing or prayer. God gives according to our abilities and personalities.

. So lets say for instance Mrs James who has been in church every since you can remember. Shes severed you tea and coffee week in and week out. With her lovely smile and the words of wisdom she shares. That’s what God has blessed her with. She may not stand in front of thousands of people and preach, but when she goes to the shops or to the hairdressers she talks about her faith and prays with her family and friends. That’s sharing the Good news, that’s her ministry.

. Now for that young girl who stands in the streets and evangelises to everyone who passes by. God has blessed her with evangelism.

.There’s Mrs Grace She uses her art work to tell the good news. God has blessed her with the special ability to paint and to prophecy. Paintings can break through language barriers and can open up conversations at many levels.

. Ms Jones it can talks of her faith as she cares for others and prays for their situations. Sharing and planting seeds.

For others God can send them out onto the mission field. Going to the furthest parts of the world, spreading the good news healing and prophesying. Many go to theological college and study for years then become ministers, priests and pastors. they guild us and help us learn God ways and word.

It’s different for us all, yet we’re all equal in his eyes. Not one of us is more special than the other. We ‘re all part of the same body spreading the good news. So know your abilities and Gifts and use them to spread his word. Giving glory to God always.

Which ever way you do it, you’ll find the enemy doesn’t like it and will always put obstacles in your way. Lets encourage and strengthen each other in Christ and as a united front. Using our actions and deeds to be a witness for our faith.

Yours Faithfully

Faith Grace.
